About me

I have nearly eleven years of experience in web design and development. For the past six years, my work has specifically focused on building rich internet media applications and learning objects for education. Presently, I work full time at Purdue University leading a team of extremely talented web programmers building games, simulations and complex applications for faculty. My present work has switched a bit from independent development to project management.
Even though my education is in Business and International Trade when I lived in my home country, web design became a great passion of mine. I always had an eye for design, I paint in acrylics and have a lot of fun doing so. It was only natural that web design became a favorite thing to do for me. Soon, I became very interested in developing web applications. When my family and I moved to Alaska, I had the opportunity to work with Geonorth right before the company split and I became part of the team of E-Terra, a GIS/Database developing company that offered me the chance to grow as a web developer. I learned database integration to online applications and developed marketing online and offline marketing pieces for the company as well as their corporate website. After so many years, they still keep my original design and flash animation.
I have built applications using SQL server and Coldfusion such as the Internet Course Exchange for WICHE (Western Commission of Higher Education), the Internet Course Exchange for the University of Alaska and UAA’s Idea Bank reporting system integrated with the University’s content management system. Even though I enjoy very much living in Indiana now, we still keep our Alaskan roots. My husband just opened a store in Lafayette where he sells Alaskan seafood, he named it North Shore Seafoods. His one page website returns him more customers than he hoped for during his first year in business. Wish him luck!
